VI. International Violin Festival

The competition is open to all violinists attending any primary music school, born after 1 June 2004.

The competition is announced in five categories as follows:


Competitors can only apply for the category that is due to their date of birth.

The competition will take place in one round, from which the Jury will decide the winners.

The number of candidates are limited: Maximum 10 candidates per school and maximum 3 candidates per category are alowed. Maximum number of the contestants is 80.

The requirements of the competition:



For all particapants in all category:
-           one compulsory piece and
-           two works of the competitor’s own choice (that may be: performance piece / concert’s 1st movement/ concert’s 3rd movement / slow and fast movement of a sonata). A slow and a fast movement of the same piece are counted as one work.

The program must be played from memory in all categories.

Compulsory pieces and total duration:

Total duration time indicates the maximum duration of the whole performance, compulsory and chosen pieces together. Candidates must present a program which does not exceed the time limit.

Category I: Purcell: Bourrée (first part with repetition)

Category II: Rameau: Menüett (with repetition)

Total duration: max. 8’

Category III: Handel: Gavotte (with repetition of the first part only)

Total duration: max. 10’

Category IV: Beethoven: Menüett és Trió (repetition in the Trio only)

Total duration: max. 12’

Category V: Hummel: Walzer (repetition in the Trio only)

Total duration: max. 12’

Application for the contest will be validated after reception of the registration fees and the application form.

No refund will be made in case of absence or withdrawal of the participant.

Candidates are responsible for their meals and accommodation during the entire contest. The costs of meals and lodging are borne by the candidate. Upon request, organizers can provide a list of accommodation located near the competition venue.

With his or her registration, the candidate agrees to the rules and regulations of the competition.





The competition will be open to the public and will be arranged in one round.

The Festival has unrestricted rights to film, broadcast, photograph and record any part of the competitor’s performances. By entering the contest, the contestant accepts without reservation that the Organizer use photos or videos of the contestant for purposes related to the contest.

If the Competitor is in breach of any of the Rules and Regulations of the Competition, the Festival maintains the right to immediately eliminate the Competitor from the Competition.

There is no money award.
After the distribution of the prizes, the prize-winners will perform at a Gala Concert.
